We appreciate and support all of our members. The Clearly Kosciusko Member Spotlight is a way for our members to highlight their organization or business and for us to show how much we appreciate their participation.
The Clearly Kosciusko member we’re shining the spotlight on this month is Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County. This local affiliate is located in Warsaw and brings people together to build homes, advocate for affordable housing, promote dignity and hope, and support sustainable, transformative development.

About Habitat for Humanity
As the local affiliate for Habitat for Humanity, the Kosciusko County location works hand-in-hand with people who struggle to make that first jump to owning their own home.
Because Habitat houses are built using donations of land, material, and labor, mortgage payments are kept affordable for families who otherwise would not qualify for traditional financing.
Each family is also asked to contribute at least 250 hours of “sweat equity” during the construction of their home or someone else’s. Habitat’s goal is to give families in need a hand up not a hand-out.
“At the end of the day, Habitat homeowners live in the community, work locally, pay property taxes to local schools, and altogether reinvest into their community.”
Ben Logan, Executive Director
In addition to building homes, Habitat operates the ReSale Outlet, which is a store that offers discounted home furnishings and building supplies to help people more easily afford the cost of housing.
When you shop at the ReSale Outlet, the funds go directly to support Habitat building projects to provide shelter for families in Kosciusko County.
Supporting Our Local Community
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Habitat relies on local donations of both financial support and building materials to fulfill their mission.

The organization works closely with local contractors to build houses, and many local businesses donate items to the ReSale Outlet. A variety of Kosciusko County churches also partner with Habitat to help raise funds and work together to build homes.
Habitat plans to increase their house production dramatically over the next five years. With the support from the local community, they are confident they’ll be able to help meet the rising need for affordable housing in Kosciusko County.
