Clearly Kosciusko Member Spotlight – Lake City Music Together
Friday, August 12, 2022

We appreciate and support all of our members. The Clearly Kosciusko Member Spotlight is a way for our members to highlight their organization or business and for us to show how much we appreciate their participation.
The Clearly Kosciusko member we’re shining the spotlight on this month is Lake City Music Together. Music Together® is a research-based, early childhood music program for children ages 0-5 and the adults who love them.
In-person indoor group classes are available at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church and online virtual group classes are also available.
About Lake City Music Together
During classes with Lake City Music Together, children and their parents, guardians, family members, and other adults who are invested in their growth, participate in playful activities in a musical environment.
Lake City Music Together is dedicated to providing a model for families to include making music in their daily lives at home with young children. A variety of song collections and musical styles are used to encourage children ages 0-5 to learn to sing in tune, keep rhythm, and have fun discovering music!
Connecting With Our Local Community
Lake City Music Together has served foster families, working with the K21 Foundation to help provide musical experiences for families in need. They are also a proud member of the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce.
“While the Lake City Music Together niche is limited due to the ages that we serve (0-5-year-olds and their caregivers), I know that this community believes in providing opportunities for families to build strong, meaningful bonds, as well as a developmental foundation on which children will grow skills in the future.”
Kelli Schneider, Teaching Director & Owner of Lake City Music Together

Their teaching director and owner, Kelli Schneider, has collaborated with Warsaw Community Public Library over the years and donated a set of Music Together Singalong Storybooks to the board book collection as a way for local families to take the music home with them.
As a lifelong Kosciusko community member, Kelli has been able to take advantage of the vibrant support of the arts over the years. Lake City Music Together offers our youngest community members a chance to engage in music, often for the first time.
Many families develop deep friendships with their classmates, which provides an incredible local network and support system as families move through a very hands-on stage of child development and family life.
Our signature greeting song, “Hello Everybody,” can be heard when friends from class see each other in the local parks, play places, or even at school!

Why Clearly Kosciusko?
“I decided to join the Clearly Kosciusko initiative because I believe that working together is a great way to promote the benefits that this area provides to residents and visitors.”

Registration for fall classes opened on August 1 and classes are available in-person and online starting September 15. Your child can participate as much as they are comfortable in class, trying instruments and having fun with props during song activities.
All children are musical! Even the youngest infant can engage with music and exhibit musical behaviors, and Kelli helps the adults in class to learn to recognize and support the musical milestones that their children are achieving.
As little ones become more mobile and develop verbal skills they begin to grow toward Basic Musical Competence that many adults recognize more readily, such as keeping a steady beat or singing in tune.
“Music learning supports all learning, and when children enjoy playful, developmentally-appropriate music learning in early childhood, it can provide a bridge to more formal learning experiences later on, whether that is instrument lessons, learning to read, or growing math skills.”
