Support Local Business Growth: Winter Holiday Edition

Friday, November 5, 2021

Our local economy needs our support year-round, but during the winter holiday season, it’s particularly important to shop, spend and participate locally!

Here are 4 simple ways you can support Kosciusko County’s businesses, artisans, restaurants, and more, all while enjoying yourself this holiday season.

01. Shop Local

Our county has a wide variety of local shops that really pull out all the stops for the holiday season.

The Village At Winona

Have you spent time in the Village At Winona recently? Enjoy an eclectic collection of shops that sell everything from handmade jewelry to knitwear, home goods, personalizable pottery, specialty food items, and more.

Explore The Village

Downtown Warsaw

Explore the Center Street area of downtown Warsaw to discover charming shops such as The Brooch Boutique and Elysian. If you wander a little farther you can visit Glam, Warsaw Cut Glass, The Jerky Shop, and MudLOVE for one-of-a-kind shopping experiences.

Silver Lake Shopping

My Unique Wooden Toys in Silver Lake sells unique, Amish-made traditional toys. You can find everything from puzzles, games, play furniture, and more to buy for the children on your holiday shopping list.

If you’re looking for more handmade wooden pieces, Whetstone Woodenware in Silver Lake sells beautiful spoons, breadboards, ladles, and more items perfect for use while cooking or baking.

02. Connect During Winter Events

It’s easy to assume local events only take place during warmer months, but that’s not the case in Kosciusko County!

03. Get Outside & Enjoy The Weather

Just because the temperatures are dropping doesn’t mean we have to give up outdoor fun. There are still plenty of ways to have outdoor adventures in Kosciusko County this winter!

Winona Lake Trails

Love cycling? Great news: you don’t need to stop cycling this winter! According to local cyclists, winter can be the best time to hit the trails in Winona Lake.

Whether you’re more comfortable cycling on the paved greenway or want the challenge of mountain bike courses, take advantage of the Winona Lake Trails year-round.

Get prepared for winter cycling

Maybe you prefer to walk instead of cycle! The trails are perfect for that, too. Wait for snow to fall, then explore the outdoor winter wonderland with family and friends.

End your adventure at Light Rail Cafe in The Village at Winona, where you can warm up over a cup of excellent coffee.

04. Connect With Your Community

Being a member of Clearly Kosciusko is the perfect way to connect with our local business community. Membership is free for any business or organization located within Kosciusko County.

As a member, you’re also given a way to connect with other businesses and leaders within the Kosciusko community to make your business or organization more visible to a broader audience.
